Dumfries House is a hidden gem in South Ayrshire. The grounds are beautiful, the water play area is brilliant. A great day out and best of all it’s free.
Loudon Hill is a great family friendly hill walk in East Ayrshire. It’s a quick walk even with kids and the views from the top are beautiful.
This is one of my favourite walks on Arran for families, and not too strenuous for anyone. The Machrie Moor standing stones are beautiful and impressive and honestly, a little bit magical. Highly recommend.

The walks and activities that you want to do may well depend on the age of your kids. But if you have a whole 48 hour weekend to spend on Arran, here are the things I would try to fit in while you’re there.
